What heat source is available at your facility?

This is the most important factor in selecting the right station.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between a steam washdown station and a hot water mixing station?

A steam washdown station mixes steam with cold water to produce hot water on demand — no separate water heater required. A hot & cold water mixing station blends two separate water supplies. Steam stations are preferred when steam is already available on site; hot water mixing stations are simpler to install when steam is not available.

Do I need steam to use a steam washdown station?

Yes. Steam washdown stations require a steam supply line (boiler or plant steam). If you do not have steam on site, a hot & cold water mixing station is the right choice.

What is the fail-safe feature?

All NCI washdown stations include a fail-safe design. If the cold water supply is interrupted for any reason, the steam or hot water supply is automatically shut off — preventing scalding at the hose outlet.

Which material should I choose — bronze or stainless steel?

Bronze is suitable for most general industrial applications. Stainless steel (316 SS) is recommended for dairy, pharmaceutical, food processing, and chemical environments where sanitation, corrosion resistance, or regulatory compliance is required.

Can I use a steam washdown station with low-pressure or waste steam?

Yes. The WD2010L model operates on steam as low as 10 PSIG, making it ideal for plants with low-pressure or waste steam that would otherwise be vented.
